In the Company of Angels
I sat in the company of angels yesterday
People like you and me,
Brown hair, blond hair, grey hair,
With wrinkles and no wrinkles
Young, old, fat, thin and in between,
And not a halo or wing to be seen.
I sat in the company of angels yesterday
Sharing sacred space
With no judgment, just
compassion
caring
kindness
strength
forgiveness
wisdom
knowing
being
I sat in the company of angels yesterday
We lit no candles, sprinkled no incense,
Held no crystals,
Neither chanted, danced nor moved from our seats
Except when Andrew prompted us to touch our toes
or reach for the skies
We simply sat together in the company
of unseen miracles
Guided in occasional meditations by the tinkling
of Donna's arpeggios
And the loving presence of Bill throughout,
Bringing us to open to our true nature of
love, power and light.
I sat in the company of angels yesterday
We cried at each other's stories,
Clapped for each other's successes and
Felt their healings as our healings
We explored living big, living easy, allowing life,
with little ritual or process
except bathroom and lunch breaks
Just being, creating, sharing, celebrating the
gifts, the blessings in and around us
I sat in the company of angels yesterday
People like you and me,
Brown hair, blond hair, grey hair,
With wrinkles and no wrinkles
Young, old, fat, thin and in between,
And I thought I heard a rustling and --
Saw the light!
Dancing with Life series:
Anytime
The softest of whispers
A gentle tap on the shoulder
The invitation can come anytime-
Are you ready to dance
With life?
Love
All my life
Fought it off
Kicked
Screamed
Struggled
For what?
Lack
Limitation
Isolation
Loneliness
Today I choose to love.
Shall we dance?
On the Threshold
On the threshold
Like the bride
On her wedding night,
Elated yet scared to move forward.
A hand reaches out gently
And patiently
invites me
To take
the first steps
Of a new dance.
